**Purpose of Position**:
Gibson House provides high quality residential care to up to 33 residents in St Andrews. The Health and well-being of our residents is our paramount focus. The position of Activities Coordinator is to create and develop a stimulating activity programme to enhance the quality of life for each resident within the care home.

**This will include**:

- planning, organising and co-ordinating a wide range of activities for active daily living for each resident individually and in groups, taking into account individual care plans.
- Planning and organising an activities programme that will maintain interest and allow for progression over a period of time
- Identifying the needs and interests of the collective group and individuals and tailoring the activities to suit them
- Assisting and support carers in developing activities appropriate for our residents
- Encouraging involvement and engagement with the local community
- Planning and organising external outings with appropriate transport
- Carrying out risk assessments in respect of activities.

**Desired**
- Relevant Vocational Qualification (achieved/working towards)
- Experience of working with the relevant Client Group
- Experience of planning and organising activities with the relevant Client Group.

**Main Responsibilities (this list is not exhaustive)**

1. Assist residents in all aspects of their daily activity programme

2. Pay particular attention to assisting residents who have limited mobility or physical/learning difficulties, making the best use of aids provided

3. Support and develop residents who may be confused and/or who may have behavioural problems

4. Assist in framework of social activities by interacting with residents and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the Care Home

5. Observe care planning needs for residents and complete written daily records in line with Gibson House Policies and Procedures

6. Ensure full privacy and dignity is maintained in line with Gibson House Policies and Procedures

7. Escort residents travelling to and from Gibson House to activities

8. Provide risk assessments for levels of activity

9. Practice maximum integrity in all dealings with resident’s affairs and avoid abuse of the privileged relationship that exists with residents.

10. Carry out any other reasonable duties as instructed.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £10.90 per hour
