Giant Mdt/clinic Co-ordinator

The GIANT (Gastro-Intestinal And Nutrition Team) MDT/Clinic Coordinator will provide MDT and clinic coordination for the GIANT service. They will be the main contact responsible for ensuring that all patients have all the, histology, imaging, test results and medical information needed for their appointments and follow ups.
This role provides an invaluable patient focused service, working within the clinical units of the hospital for consultant surgeons and physicians.
Due to the nature of the role, we are looking for a dependable and highly adaptable individual who is able to work independently and has the ability to fit in quickly as part of a team.
The aim of this role is to assist the GIANT Clinic Coordinator is to provide

To be the single point of contact for the unit to the GIANT team for tracking
information and queries relating to MDT
To maintain a record of patient tests requested from organisations and external laboratories for testing and follow up for results within expected turnaround times as necessary.
To be responsible for maintaining an effective sample/information tracking process using the Trust Cancer Waits and Patient Tracking System.
To liaise with diagnostic laboratory staff outside the Trust to ensure all necessary information to inform a patient’s consultation is available in clinic and for patient follow up.
To maintain department database and relevant spreadsheets with information regarding patients having investigations at other Trusts.
To optimise data recording and collation in collaboration with other members of the unit, using proformas and databases.
To contribute to the development of clinical and management policies and
procedures to monitor and regularly review these within the GIANT Unit.
