Biobank team is committed in supporting research at the Royal Marsden. It is expected that the post holder will have a dual role with skills in data and sample processing.

Part of the role will involve undertaking the data management requirements for the Biobank and for the Generic Tissue Bank, including clinical data extraction for research projects who are receiving tissue from the Generic Tissue Banks as well as report generation, data queries, data query resolution and preparation for audits for the sample management service also provided by the Biobank Team.

To work as part of the Biobank sample collection team working within the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and our Academic Partner Institute of Cancer Research at Chelsea and Sutton sites.

To be responsible for collecting and processing blood and tissue samples for multiple clinical units and studies across the institution

To take part in the out of hours on-call rota at both Sutton and Chelsea sites

To take part in training events and meetings to ensure best practice is applied across sample management within the Trust.

You will have excellent communication, logistic and keyboard skills as they will be required to interact with clinicians, research nurses, clinic, theatres, and laboratory staff.

The Data Manager will undertake data checking and generation of summary reports for research projects in line with the protocol, requirements of oversight Complete other routine tasks required for the effective running of the research portfolio from the GTB and from the Biobank Services, as directed by the Biobank Manager and Biobank Operations Manager.

Work in a flexible manner and be organised, meeting objectives and deadlines, working across either site where additional support may be required.

Act as a point of contact for external trial teams and departments to communicate directly with them regarding data queries, audits and other enquiries relevant to the trial and biobank.

To be part of the team that meets with researchers to establish their data requirements for research projects that are part of the GTB portfolio.
