Investigative Skills training within Essex Police is looking for new members to fill the role of Operational Investigative Skills Trainer at Essex Police College, Chelmsford. The available positions sit within both the Core Investigations Training and the Investigative Skills training arms of the team. These two sections of the team overlap to support each other in the delivery of high quality, innovative and exciting training products that cross the spectrum of PIP 1, PIP 2 and PIP 3 learning curriculums providing opportunities to specialize in specific elements of investigations or intelligence related training.

**What we are looking for**:
You will be able to demonstrate a keen interest in training with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professional behavior, in keeping with the Force Plan and the Code of Ethics.

**At shortlisting we will be looking for essential evidence of**:
Your knowledge of legislation and policy, this could include experience at PIP1 or above, within a specialist field such as intelligence or within one of the other areas encompassed within our training.

Your experience in communication within a law enforcement environment, this could include PIP compliant interviews, intelligence interviews or other professionally appropriate forms of communication.

Your ability to gather information for analysis, this could include the use of reflective practice, identification of learning points and use of these to inform your future approach to a situation or procedure.

Your effective use of IT systems to support your working objectives.

**In addition, it would be helpful if you could evidence**:
A formal Training qualification in adult education. (You will otherwise be required to undertake training to a minimum of AET or PTRLDP level within the role).

Experience in delivering training and development sessions.

**Our Location**:
The Investigative Skills Training Team is based at the Essex Police College within the Headquarters site in SPRINGFIELD, CHELMSFORD. The location is easily accessible by road and Public Transport and there is some parking available on site on a ‘first come first served’ basis. The team works out of an open plan office environment which is shared with colleagues from the Probationer Development team.

Successful applicants for this role will be defined as an; Office based Agile Worker - Office based agile working with designated team area. Works predominantly (60% or more) in one office space. The rest of the time works at home or at other police site locations.
