Removing Assets from Criminals to compensate victims or invest in policing and our communities makes a real difference.

The Proceeds of Crime Team at Essex Police are looking for an Accredited Financial Investigator to do just that.

Can you make sure our criminals are not benefiting from their crimes?

You will work as part of a professional and friendly team of Financial Investigators to deliver the force’s asset recovery under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, including cash seizure and confiscation investigations.

You will use your specialist knowledge and skills to offer tactical advice and guidance across the organization to maximise asset recovery.

You will work with partner agencies including the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU), National Crime Agency (NCA), Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and financial institutions and understand how organisations work together the get the best results.

Applicants should be accredited with the NCA as a Financial Investigator
- Confiscator.

It is desirable that applicants hold a full driving licence or have access / ability to travel by other means as attendance at courts in and around Essex will be required as part of the role.

Working with partners whether internal and/or external, to meet an aim or solve an issue.

Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with an ability to complete structured reports.

Managing a number of competing demands with a need for prioritisation and ability to work independently

The role is Monday to Friday 0800 - 1600. Occasional weekend working is required on a rota basis, not exceeding two weekends a year. The role is designated as ‘office based agile’ with the main office being in Chelmsford, however flexibility can be offered at the discretion of the line manager.

Essex Police offer incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £41,928.00.
