A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join our highly experienced and friendly Clinical Coding team at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust in Cornwall. We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Clinical Coding Team Leader to assist with the leadership and management of the Clinical Coding team based across Cornwall.

The post folder will be an experienced Accredited Clinical Coder (ACC) with experience in supervising or mentoring staff. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

The department fully believes in a healthy work/life balance and so offers a flexible approach to working which includes working from home for up to 50% of your working week if desired.

You will line manage a clinical coding team made up of coding support officers, trainee/trained clinical coders and accredited clinical coders. As part of this you will ensure the clinical coding team resources are appropriately applied by prioritising workloads and helping to ensure the efficient running of the service at all times.

As part of the management team you will support staff in a comprehensive training and development structure through strong leadership, an in-house training programme delivered through a Terminology and Classifications Delivery Service Approved Clinical Coding Trainer, and CPD for all staff, developing existing skills and learning new ones as well as encouraging independent working.

Taking a key lead role in the daily management of the clinical coding teams to ensure strict monthly deadlines are met.

Answering complex coding queries from members of staff at all levels throughout the organisation.

The production of work rotas to ensure the service runs as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Chairing and organising regular staff and team meetings as well as annual staff appraisals.

Manage your own coding workload.
