UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) is an independent, non-departmental public body, which invests over £6bn per annum in research and innovation. You will work within Funding Service Operations, covering Pre/Peer Review, Post Award and Global Talent Visa.

The role is to administer pre and post award activities that are delivered by the Operations team on behalf of the Research Councils. This includes:

- setting up funding opportunities within our back office and external facing systems,
- involvement with User Acceptance Testing
- processing of Contact accounts records,
- Data Integrity Management,
- administrative checks
- supporting meetings for Peer review
- end to end grant administration including amendments and reconciliations

Activities will depend upon the area that the job holder occupies as agreed with line management, and the role will be supplemented by a number of SMART objectives.

**Key Responsibilities**

The role requires the administration of a number of tasks within the UKRI Funding Services team. You will be responsible for:

- Ensuring the delivery of Pre/Peer and Post award grant processing activities, are done in a timely manner, using Standard Operating Procedures/Business rules.
- Providing clear and concise responses to queries/questions from a variety of stakeholders, including the external community.
- Providing training and support to other members of the team, building, and maintaining positive relationships.
- Embracing changes based upon regulatory or policy requirements e.g., a change to the system, updates from business rules, process changes due to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensuring the management of data is compliant with GDPR principles.
- Actively contribute to elements of corporate projects and initiatives e.g. TFS, New Horizons etc when required.
- Processing Contact account records, Data Integrity Management and setting up bank account details in line with data protection rules.

Other activities and objectives will be set with the line manager to align with role responsibilities and requirements.

**Key Requirements/Knowledge/Skills and Experience**

**Education**

GCSE level or above / relevant experience

**Knowledge**

Essential:

- Knowledge of what is required to work in a high volume, transactional and supporting organisation or a similar role.
- Experience of delivering a customer focused service operation.
- Demonstrable experience of being flexible and adaptable in business situations

Desirable:

- Experience of working in a similar position.

**Skills & Experience**

Essential:

- Understanding of good customer service.
- Experience of working as part of a team
- Demonstrable ability to work to agreed targets and deadlines.
- Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office packages.

Desirable:

- Previous use of financial systems
