**The Team**:
This role works as part of the Awards (formerly known as Grants and Contracts) team, which collects and checks information from successful grant applicants prior to them being able to start their projects. The Awards team is part of the wider Delivery team within the Operations directorate and is not only responsible for creating, issuing and amending grant award letters, but also for checking that applicants are aware of all the information they need to provide as part of the process. The team works across Operations and needs to engage with Stakeholders across the wider organisation.

**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**:

- Monitoring the project setup tasks in both Tracker and the Innovation Funding Service to see which participants require attention within Operations
- Processing of bank details checks from grant recipients in line with Innovate UK defined processes, liaising with the Finance department as necessary
- Checking of all awards documentation (e.g. collaboration agreement, exploitation plans) submitted by grant recipients during the project setup phase
- Creation of Conditional Offer Letters / Grant Offer letters as part of the project set up process.
- Processing of project change requests, working closely with the Claims and Monitoring teams
- To employ initiative to resolve problems and deal with issues in a constructive manner, understanding when it is necessary to escalate to Awards Team Leader
- Ensure excellence of quality in service provision to all stakeholders at all times
- To engage with the Deputy Director Operations Delivery where needed on a daily basis to ensure that deployment reflects the priorities of the Operations team
- Support with ad-hoc project work as directed by the Awards Team Leader / Deputy Director Operations Delivery

- General academic qualifications to GCSE Level or equivalent experience

**Experience**:
Essential
- Experience of working in a customer service focused, fast-paced and process-oriented environment
- General administration experience working with bespoke and Microsoft systems and databases
- Demonstrable experience of working as part of effective teams, preferably in an operational environment to deliver results
- Proven hands-on ability to work within a change and process-led environment
- Experience of working with multiple, senior-level stakeholders, providing proactive customer/stakeholder support managing multiple deadlines concurrently

Desirable
- Interest/background/experience in innovation or research, business competitiveness and technology policy or delivery
- Experience of working with contractual documentation
- Understanding of structure of government and key Innovate UK’s partner organisations such as the Research Councils and Devolved Administrations

**Skills**:

- Proven team working skills
- Ability to take responsibility in decision-making and to know when to escalate as appropriate
- Self-organisation skills and a demonstrable ability to manage and prioritise a workload in order to meet tight deadlines
