The successful applicant needs to be a social worker, qualified nurse or occupational therapist with 2 years post qualifying experience.

The applicant must be able to demonstrate substantial knowledge and understanding of the Early Intervention in psychosis model of practice and have a proven track record for innovative practice.

Tower Hamlets Early Intervention Service (THEIS) is an early intervention in psychosis service for adults aged 18-65 years old, from a range of religious, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, experiencing first onset of psychosis.

THEIS is an expanding multi-disciplinary team; we provide a range of psychosocial interventions working within the care programme approach framework in collaboration with service users, carers and other relevant agencies. The interventions are offered in individual, group and family contexts, and commonly require an assertive outreach approach.

Early intervention for psychosis services aim to reduce the prevalence and impact of schizophrenia by reducing the duration of untreated psychosis and engaging clients in training and work as well as offering support and psychological interventions.

Carry out individual assessments in a variety of settings, ie. home, clinical base, school, treatment centre, GP surgeries.

Carry a caseload of THEIS clients in line with the requirements of the service, taking responsibility for the care management of the caseload.

Take responsibility for CPA and risk assessment when acting as care-coordinator and liaising with other professional as appropriate.

Undertaking Care Act compliant assessments and initiating care packages where needed.

Undertake Safeguarding Children referrals and liaise with the local authority around joint working.

Undertake Safeguarding Adult Investigations and working closely with the Safeguarding Adults manager within the service.

Ensure a seamless approach by liaising with other professionals as required e.g. A&E, ward based staff.
