**Job summary**:
We wish to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic band 5 clinical trial co-ordinator to assist in the co-ordination and delivery of clinical trials within the 24/7 clinical research delivery team for "unplanned admissions" (including ED/ Acute Trauma/ Burns/Critical Care and Stroke).

The 24/7 clinical research service was first established in 2013, the first of its kind in the UK, as part of the NIHR Surgical Reconstruction and Microbiology Research Centre (trauma research); trauma does not occur just during working hours. Over the last 10 years the service has grown including additional specialties, most recently stroke. Now is an exciting time to join the team as we refresh our strategy/direction for the next 5-10 years.

The clinical trial co-ordinator will be part of a team of a dynamic nursing, allied health professional and administration team running a 24/7 service. The post-holder will work with consultants, clinical trial staff and external partners in order to set up and ensure the smooth running of a wide range of studies.

**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:
Qualifications: - O' Levels / 'GCSE's specifically English and maths at grade C or above and relevant first degree or equivalent experience

Experience:

- Prior experience in clinical research trials/research data management and experience of research in a healthcare setting

Knowledge:
- Knowledge of National policies, procedures and initiatives or current issues facing the NHS
- Knowledge of ICH GCP

**Skills**:

- Enthusiastic and able to motivate others
- Self-motivated and able to work under own initiative
- Ability to communicate with all staff groups

Information Management:

- Good IT skills ability to record information electronically

Flexibility: - Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines
