Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Clinical Trials Administrator to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and delivering clinical research studies in the intensive care unit, emergency department, hyperacute stroke unit, and trauma centres.

The Clinical Trials Administrator will work closely with a team of clinical trial administrators, trial co-ordinators, portfolio manager, and research clinicians to support the delivery of clinical research studies from different specialties, including trauma, critical care, and stroke.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and maintain accurate records. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office and NHS IT systems is essential, with experience of working with patient data in a clinical trial or healthcare research setting being desirable.

Main Duties

  • Liaise with Trial Monitors and Study Co-ordinators from external companies/trial centres
  • Ensure all biological samples are sent to the relevant trial laboratories, where appropriate with supervision
  • Assist the research teams in the completion of case report forms for clinical trial units
  • Answer queries generated by trial centres on the CRF data
  • Assist with the close out visits and archiving of trial material

Person Specification

  • GCSE in English and Maths grade A-C or equivalent
  • NVQ Level 3 in Administration or equivalent experience
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and NHS IT systems
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain accurate records
  • Professional attitude and diplomatic communication skills
