Passionate advocate of climate action? Seeking to further enhance your existing net zero and energy sector skills and knowledge? Got extensive experience of fostering relationships, meaningful stakeholder engagement and engendering behaviour change to bring real benefits for communities? Then join our dedicated and focused team. We are seeking an experienced individual to work with communities, support Elected Members and senior management, and represent the Council with external Partners. You will bring with you experience of preparing Business Cases, Professional Reports and Funding Bids related to decarbonisation and energy resilience. Objective thinking, devising creative opportunities and being solutions focused is core to the role, as is being skilled at working with different groups at differing levels on carbon emissions reduction, promoting use of low carbon materials, embedding circular economy principles and using digital innovation.
As the City embarks on its ‘Green Revolution’, you will help deliver the Council's Our City : Our Plan, involving in a broad range of ongoing and new; initiatives, pilot projects, proposals, designs and developments across Scope 1, 2 and 3 Emissions. Your contributions will be core to the Council continuing progress on its 2028 Net Zero commitments as part of the city-wide 2041 Net Zero approach.
**Our working arrangements**
All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empowers employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocation where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location. Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
