**The Role**:
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Enforcement Officer to join our busy Environmental, Education and Enforcement Department in Bolton.

You will be responsible for investigating Environmental crimes such as fly-tipping, littering and dog fouling, and dealing robustly with offenders by way of fixed penalty notices and/or court proceedings. You must be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Environmental legislation and have the ability to prepare and submit cases for court.

The work is varied and challenging, and the role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and experience within our team. You will be expected to manage and prioritise your own workload whilst assisting colleagues when needed.

**About You**:
You must possess excellent communication skills and be able to work as part of a team and use your own initiative to work independently.

You should have a strong enforcement background and have the desire to improve the environmental quality of Bolton, making a difference to residents’ lives. You must be able to plan and prioritise a busy workload and, where necessary, have a flexible approach to working out of hours should the need arise.

You will be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of environmental legislation and be capable of investigation complaints, taking legal action where appropriate.
