Job Title: Environmental Health Officer

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Environmental Health Officer to join our busy Regulatory Services team at Bolton Council. The successful candidate will undertake a broad range of regulatory duties, including food safety, health and safety, and pollution control.

About the Role

The Environmental Health Officer will be responsible for enforcing food safety and health and safety regulations, as well as investigating complaints and conducting inspections. The role requires a strong understanding of environmental health principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce food safety and health and safety regulations
  • Investigate complaints and conduct inspections
  • Provide advice and guidance to food businesses and other stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other teams to achieve regulatory objectives
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree or diploma in Environmental Health or a related field
  • A valid driving license and access to a vehicle
  • Registration with the EHRB or equivalent
  • Experience in food law enforcement and competency
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
