Great Bear is a leading 3rd party logistics business providing a wide range of ambient warehousing services, shared-user and dedicated transport solutions to a wide variety of customers alongside offering a flexible mix of added-value services to simplifysupply chain. We operate over 7 million sq.ft. of warehousing space across 30+ locations in the UK. Our distribution network spans all corners of the country.
Our **Banbury** site are now recruiting for a **Transport Planner** on a full time basis
**Salary**:£31,500 per annum
**Working hours**: Monday to Friday. 8am - 5pm
The purpose of a**Transport Planner** is to be responsible for overseeing the day to day planning of the transport operation, through efficient planning. We are looking for a highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced atworking in a busy transport department, able to deal with day to day challenges and provide cost effective solutions.
Key Duties of a Transport Planner:
- Subcontracting and planning orders out of multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites across the UK.
- Liaising with Traffic and Administration teams to ensure the highest standards of performance are maintained at all times.
- Maintaining, creating and updating spreadsheets and databases for customer reports.
- Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that arise.
**Qualifications**
- Be able to demonstrate a high level of transport planning expertise in a busy and demanding environment.
- Be able to make decisions under pressure, and to a tight timescale.
- Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business, particularly at peak periods during the year.
- Have the ability to identify and suggest improvements to benefit both the Company and our customer.
- Knowledge of SAP, BPCS and Road Runner would be advantageous.
