About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Traffic Management Specialist to assist the Traffic Manager in ensuring site traffic safety across multiple main sites, including over 30 crossings and 15 bridge ways.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Environmental Statement Knowledge: Develop in-depth knowledge of the Environmental Statement and criteria for determining significant impacts.
  • Contractor Forecast Review: Receive and review contractor forecasts and actual traffic flow information, compiling data across different contractors using spreadsheet tools as needed.
  • Mitigation Measures: Identify if contractors are addressing new significant adverse impacts and implementing suitable mitigation measures in consultation with Area Traffic Managers and external consultants.
  • Flow Forecast Analysis: Review flow forecasts and provide detailed analysis and commentary on contractor compliance with project Environmental Minimum Requirements.
  • Traffic Management Plan: Review actual flow trends against Local Traffic Management Plan assumptions and identify any trends that may be within or outside the scope of the project to manage or mitigate.
  • Liaison with External Parties: Liaise on environmental matters with town planners and environmental specialists, particularly regarding data on noise and air quality.
  • Compliance Verification: As necessary, request deployment of the HS2 compliance team to verify contractor records and flow information.
  • Community Engagement: Assist the community engagement team with managing correspondence and queries regarding environmental effects.

This is a client-side, contract role inside IR35.

The ideal candidate will have experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects and a strong understanding of environmental regulations and best practices. We require excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
