The IT Support Apprentice reports to Squarcle’s IT Service Manager, supporting the manager in configuring, maintaining, securing and supporting our internal environments (MS Azure / Office365).Additionally the apprentice will provide hardware support forcolleague’s laptops and peripherals.
Whilst enrolled on the apprenticeship, and throughout their early career, progress is closely monitored with coaching, training and support provided to help them achieve their long-term career goals with Squarcle
**You will be responsible for**:
- Assisting with the configuration, maintenance, security and support of Squarcle’s Microsoft Azure domain, including licence allocation, SharePoint and internal apps developed using the MS Power Platform (PowerBI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power VirtualAgents)
- Assisting with the configuration, maintenance, security and support of Squarcle’s network provision including router configuration, VPN licence allocation, physical office and remote connectivity
- Assisting with the configuration, maintenance, security and support of Squarcle’s hardware provision including build, support and fault diagnosis of colleague laptops and other peripherals (e.g. printers, monitors)
- Providing support, input and advice for client projects where the proposed solution leverages Azure (or other cloud) infrastructure to ensure technical project deliverables are robust, secure and fit for purpose
- Working with the IT Service Manager to identify areas for improvement of Squarcle’s internal IT provision
- Supporting the IT Service Manager through accreditation cycles (e.g. Cyber Essentials, CE+, DART, ISO standards)
**You will need the following skills**:
- Interest in maths, science or technology
- Interest in IT provision
- Excellent, clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
- Strong research capability (e.g. ability to probe, ask questions and find answers)
- Initiative and self-motivation
- Strong sense of ownership over work, driven to achieve committed milestones
- A team player, dedicated to the success of the team
- High degree of emotional intelligence to effectively work with diverse clients and teams

**Entry requirements**:
The entry requirements for this Azure Cloud Support Specialist programme are as follows:
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
**Working week**:
37.5 hours per week, 9am - 5:30pm
**Future prospects**:
92% of QA Apprentices secure full-time employment after finishing their apprenticeship. Additionally there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programs offer on-going development tracks.

QA’s apprenticeships are funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), an executive agency of the Department for Education.
To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.
