**Key worker and Engagement**
**Purpose**
We would like to appoint a Keyworker and engagement person to join our Adult Learning team to deliver a variety of interventions to support cohorts of learners/participants in the Bolton area.
You will encourage and enable them to participate in development opportunities and to access the wider services and support they may need in order to give them the best chances of being ready to join the world of work. This will involve supporting the learners to engage in positive and constructive activities and creating opportunities for their personal, social and emotional development. As part of the role you will be networking with our stakeholders and referral partners such as JCP, local authority and voluntary sector within the Bolton area.
You will be committed to ensuring that provision is accessible and relevant to the target group regardless of gender, ethnicity, sexuality, disability and social background.
We are looking for someone who is flexible with significant experience of working with the specific target group and who wants to grow and develop.

As a key worker you will plan to teach and support adult learners to complete both regulated and non-regulated provision, by using a range of teaching methods that are appropriate to the learning styles of individuals, you will support them in improving their English skills and achieving their learning aims.
You will be expected to maintain accurate records of learning and progress to support the learner’s journey. You will achieve this through delivering classroom and community-based sessions as well as through small group, individual and tailored 1-2-1 support face to face. You will be supported to plan, design and deliver sessions to maximise learner progress across a range of settings.
**You will work with participants to**:
- Develop effective working relationships on 1-2-1 or group basis and provide support and mentoring.
- Work with each participant through their ILP to identify barriers to their achievement and set individual goals to support learning or development targets and action plans, monitor reviews and celebrate progress towards these targets;
- Research and provide participants with information on support, further training and career options and support available to them, referring to other services and specialists where needed;
- Maintain accurate, up to date records of learning, development and support, record and monitor participant’s progress and outcomes and supply information to relevant partners.
- Network with a wide range of stakeholders e.g. JCP, local authority and specialist services and voluntary groups;
- Work with partner agencies to ensure effective targeting and referrals of participants to the programme; set up approaches to involve the hard-to-reach including liaison with estate and community based workers and outreach direct to unemployed and 50+;
- Help monitor and evaluate the success of the programme, providing written reports when required;
- Attend regular supervision and team meetings as agreed with line manager
- Carry out all duties in accordance with our Equal Opportunities policy, actively promoting equality and seeking to prevent and overcome disadvantage and discrimination.
- Use IT to do research, produce reports and correspondence, keep statistics and undertake all admin required for the post.
- Ensure that legislation relating to the health safety is complied with at all times
- Maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality with participants, staff and volunteers.
- Attend training events and undertake other professional development as required
- Be fully aware of safeguarding principles relating to vulnerable adults.
- Promptly update line manager of any concerns in relation to safeguarding
- Work within the policies and processes set out by Get SET Academy.
- Any other tasks that are requested of you which reasonably fit within your capabilities and broad role description.

- Ability to manage caseloads effectively and keeping files maintained and up to date.
- Ability to motivate and engage learners to participate and progress
- The ability to engage and communicate effectively with participants whose first language is not English
- A sound knowledge of English language theory and grammar
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to provide developmental feedback
- Good IT skills and knowledge of MS Office packages
