The Suffolk Councils are delighted to have secured £2.3M of funding from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) to deliver a 2-year programme focussed on private rented homes across our County.

The programme is being hosted by East Suffolk Council, but we are driven by commitment and enthusiasm from East Suffolk, Ipswich Borough, Babergh District, Mid Suffolk District and West Suffolk Councils. We are building a growing team of key stakeholders to help us with engagement, data, marketing and communications, training and research into outcomes.

All of our work will lead to an improvement in standards in the private rented homes and a better understanding of the pressures and problems in the sector.

We currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Council's Private Sector Housing Project Team as a **Grants and Information Officer.**

We are very excited to have this amazing opportunity and have already appointed the Programme Manager and the Business Support Officer. Being a member of this dynamic team will provide key experience in being part of an area-based project with the community at the heart of its objectives. This role will provide a unique opportunity to gain experience in working proactively to empower tenants and property professionals by engagement and effective multi-agency working.

This support role will deliver advice and information to landlords, letting agents and tenants. Particularly, but not exclusively, focussing on grants to improve the energy efficiency of the homes, you will need to have the skills to carry out an energy related housing inspection and recognize opportunities for improvements as well as constraints for such. Ideally you should possess a City and Guilds level 5 in Energy Advice.

You will need to have excellent communication and collaboration skills, an ability to solve problems, and be a self-starter who also enjoys teamwork. you will work closely with the Landlord Engagement Officer and be a key contact point for property professionals in the region.
