We currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Council's growing Private Sector Housing Team as a **Technical Officer / Environmental Health Officer.**

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Environmental Health professional** **to join our team of motivated and enthusiastic officers. This is an ideal opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic professional to help us tackle housing standards in some of the district’s areas of poorest housing and highest deprivation.

Alongside educating and empowering both tenants and landlords, you will be encouraged to use the full range of enforcement options where education is not effective or appropriate. Our aim is for you to tackle some of the health inequalities and poor housing conditions at a time of growing concern about the rising cost of living and make a real difference to homes and communities. This role will work to develop partnerships to give the best possible support to those living in deprivation.

You will need to be a self-starter, strong communicator and able to manage a caseload with different priorities.
- For a **Technical Officer**, you will need to be educated to a minimum of A Level standard (NQF Level 3).
- For an **Environmental Health Officer**, you will have experience in Private Sector Housing, with an excellent working knowledge of housing legislation, a degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Health with registration to the EHRB or CIEH. A full UK driving licence is also essential.
