Birmingham, United Kingdom Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust Full time

2 x Clinical Associate in Psychology Apprenticeships - Brooklands Hospital, Marston Green - Coventry & Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust.

Band 5 Clinical Associate in Psychology Apprentice (moving to Band 6 on successful completion of the course)

You must meet the entry requirements to the Clinical Associate in Psychology Degree Apprenticeship as specified by Nottingham Trent University, have the right to work in England and have valid and eligible residency status to meet the criteria for apprenticeship funding in accordance with Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) rules. You will also need to have experience of paid or voluntary experience relevant to working in health, mental health and/or psychological service setting. You must also be able to travel for work purposes and have access to an independent means of transport, as well as have the ability to work flexibly with the needs of the client group.

We are looking for Psychology graduates to join us and be amongst the first in our Trust to train as Clinical Associates in Psychology. This is an exciting new psychology profession that has been approved as a Level 7 Degree Apprenticeship. During your training phase of around 18 months you will be undertaking the Masters Programme in Clinical Associate Psychology with Nottingham Trent University while working as part of our multidisciplinary Inpatient Teams at Brooklands Hospital to develop the clinical skills and competencies essential to the role. As an apprentice you will be working and being paid full time and the full fees of the course will be paid.

The post holder(s) will work with clients with a learning disability in inpatient services, acting as a resource of psychological skill and competence to a team of healthcare practitioners. They are trained to provide effective evidence-based care to National and local guidelines and will manage a caseload and take responsibility for proactive care delivery decisions, within their scope of practice and under the supervision of a HCPC registered practitioner psychologist. They will be trained to plan, assess, implement and evaluate programmes of care. CAPs are expected to maintain a compassionate, caring and safe care environment

There are six specialist services on the Brooklands Hospital site, providing inpatient assessment and treatment services to adults (men and women) and young people with an Intellectual Disability and/or autism. It is a Centre of Excellence and further services are currently in development on site.

Positive Behavioural Support is a major part of our service philosophy and the service ethos is to ensure that effective, evidence based interventions are provided to people who can present considerable risk, to ensure that they can return to a less restrictive environment in the community as soon as possible.

Recruitment to these posts involves the Trust interview and selection process, following which a conditional offer of a post will be made. On receipt of this offer you will be required to complete the Nottingham Trent University admissions process for the Clinical Associate in Psychology Degree Apprenticeship. Final offers of these posts are dependent on completion of this as well as passing the usual Trust recruitment checks.

On successful completion of the course end point assessment, you will move to a Band 6 Clinical Associate in Psychology post in our Inpatient LD services.

**Please note**: It is mandatory requirement for all newly appointed staff to be registered with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Update Service.
