Customs Administrator

For the role of Customs Administrator you will be responsible for ensuring that you provide Customs & Excise and Administrative support with particular focus on the Bond system(s).
Key Responsibilities in this role will include;
- Assist in the preparation of the Customs & Excise Administration, ensuring that all HMRC statutory regulations are adhered to.
- Ensure that the site Customs & Excise procedures and Customers requirements are followed.
- Assist in the calculation and processing of both Customs & Duty & VAT (Deferment method) through established computer software in accordance with HMRC & Customer requirements, maintaining high levels of accuracy.
- Resolve any Customer enquiries and seek to provide reliable satisfactory advice together with relevant Management and Duty payable / completion of transactions.
- Keep Management informed of all aspects relating to the control and movement of bonded stock.
- Ensure that all weekly/monthly deadlines are adhered to.
- General administrative duties.
- Assist in the monthly Stock check reconciliation between the Stock system and the Customs system, investigating and resolving any discrepancies if they arise.
- Where applicable cover certain duties when Customs & Excise Admin with full support from the Department Manager.
- Maintain specific levels of housekeeping within the office to meet H&S regulations, and company standards.
Key skills and experience in this role will include:
- You will be computer literate and have strong verbal & written communication skills.
- You will have a good knowledge of customs requirements (preferable training will be provided)
- You will have the ability to follow work procedures, time Management orientated, focussed, flexible and with high attention to detail.

Pay: £11.44 per hour
