Edinburgh, United Kingdom University of Edinburgh Full time

**Lecturer in Digital Media Design**

**U08, £45,585 - £54,395 per annum**

**Full-time (35 hours p/w)**

**Open-ended**

**School of Design, Edinburgh College of Art, CAHSS**

This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.

**The Opportunity**

The post has a focus on research and teaching across our fully hybrid postgraduate (Masters) taught programmes in the Digital Media Design area. The work will involve preparing, scheduling and integrated delivery of courses on campus and online, including lectures, workshops, seminars and tutorials; also supporting course administration, and the setting and assessing of assignments.

The post holder will be expected to contribute where appropriate to broader cross-disciplinary teaching and future curriculum development across Edinburgh College of Art and the wider University.

The post holder will be expected to demonstrate dynamic leadership skills, including ambition to uphold and develop the teaching quality and overall academic vision for the programmes. This should include undertaking in the future a 3-5 year role as Programme Director, in line with the University’s approach to rotational leadership opportunities.

**Your skills and attributes for success**:

- You will be an excellent team player with a record of high-quality teaching, leadership and educational administration in higher education, including postgraduate project and dissertation supervision.
- You will hold a PhD and/or commensurate practice experience in an area relating to Digital Media Design, and have a clear track record of excellent research and/or practice outputs, or the demonstrable ability to develop rapidly in this direction.
- You will have an imaginative approach to assessment. While being comfortable working across the range from written assignments to a variety of other practice-oriented media/multi-modal contexts, you will be responsive to the challenges constantly posed by new practices and technologies.
- You will show a clear commitment to supporting equalities, diversity and inclusion within a teaching and learning context.
