International Transport Planner

Our company has been providing transport solutions to a wide range of customers for nearly 30 years. With annual sales of £93 million, we currently move around 900 loads every day within the UK & Europe. Due to rapid growth, we are looking for transport operators, in particular for our German department as our customer base in this market grows.
Fluency in both German and English language is is required for this role. An understanding of Export or Import requirements and procedures would be preferential. Having experience of working within transport would be an advantage.
We have a strong team ethic, a pleasant and positive working environment, and believe in providing a great customer service experience. The role will suit customer friendly individuals with excellent communication skills.
**The role: -**
- An important member of a team managing customer orders across Europe
- Requires personal organisation and enthusiasm.
- Taking client orders and delivering a first class service whilst ensuring that client requirements are met.
- Establish and maintain partner carrier relationships, and negotiating transport costs to attain the best service and cost ratios
- Communication with clients and partners daily to ensure the transport plan is being achieved.
- Resolution of any transport related issues in conjunction with the rest of the operations team.
- Identifying new business flows for our forwarding activities

**Skills & experience required:
- **
- German language skills to a fluent level.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive telephone manner are a pre-requisite.
- Good UK and European geographic knowledge.
- Problem solving skills whilst multitasking and prioritising
- Able and eager to develop existing customers a well as building new sourcing and developing new customers.
- Build and develop customer relationships and identify their transport requirements across multiple modes of transport.
- Knowledge of transport operations and in particular European road
- Knowledge of various pricing models to include Full and part loads, LTL, FTL, (advantageous)
- Fluency in English
