**The role**

We are looking for enthusiastic lead generation team members to join our high-energy sales team. You will talk to the public about our amazing broadband on their doorstep, at events, train stations and other public areas.

Our friendly, professional in-house field sales team, known as 'community engagers' have excellent interpersonal skills, a strong background in sales, tenacity and the ability to provide good quality information on a range of services.

Ultimately, a high-quality community engager is someone who can relate to and connect with people face-to-face and promote the company’s services without coming across as aggressive or pushy.

**Responsibilities**
- Good product knowledge
- Travel to specific canvassing locations, within a 40-mile radius (we provide the vehicle and petrol)
- Approaching and talking to people in shopping centres, on the street, and at their homes about the company
- Obtaining personal contact information
- Making cold calls from the office
- Answering questions about the company and service
- Maintaining a professional appearance and behaviour
- Meeting targets
- Recruiting and training new engagers.

**Requirements**:

- Sales experience preferable
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to sell and influence
- General working hours - 40 per week, to be worked between 8am and 8pm. Mostly 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday with some weekend availability, particularly for public events.
- Ability to travel extensively (we provide the vehicle and petrol)
- Ability to work outdoors
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods
- Full driving licence.

**Working Hours**

40 hours per week plus breaks.

**Who we are**

Lightning Fibre is the leading local alternative network provider of full fibre broadband in East Sussex. We are headquartered in Polegate, have an existing broadband network in East Sussex and are now rolling out our great product in Brighton, Hove, Worthing and Haywards Heath. Our broadband network can supply our standard installed customers with anything up to 10 Gigabits in both download and uploads.

We are a community orientated network operator, whose aim is to significantly upgrade our region’s broadband infrastructure, providing local jobs, keeping local £’s in the areas we serve and act as a vital enabler to grow our digital local economy, thereby creating further quality jobs.

Our field sales team do more than just door canvassing; that’s why at Lightning Fibre the team are known as ‘community engagers’. You’ll be attending events, visiting homes and businesses, and liaising with local community groups and charities. We also have trade stands at private sites including train stations.

As a community engager, you will be responsible for generating sales leads for our tele-sales team. You won’t be required to actually sign people up to the service; we follow a two stage process so you can focus on having good conversations without the need to ‘close the deal’, which means the approach is more relaxed and less pressured - for both parties

The purpose of this role is to positively promote our company, increasing awareness of Lightning Fibre in our target areas, using a range of techniques, to deliver revenue targets.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to £40,000.00 per year
