We have a fantastic opportunity for a part-time Accounts & HR Assistant to join our team, helping support the Finance Manager in the day to day running of the Finance department in an organisation with a clear mission to make a real difference in the lifeprospects of vulnerable children.

**Position**: Accounts & HR Assistant

**Location**:Wallington, London Borough of Sutton

**Salary**: £13 - £15 per hour depending on experience,

**Hours**: Part time, permanent, 12-15 hours per week

Ascent is looking to recruit an experienced and highly personable finance professional to underpin the ongoing growth of the organisation. We are looking for someone with excellent finance and IT skills, a high level of attention to detail, strong communicationand a passion to support the work that we do.

**Some of your key responsibilities will include**:

- Maintaining and reconciling our accounting records on Xero
- Assisting the Finance Manager and our payroll bureau in the preparation of payrolls for the Fostering Agency and Residential Home
- Paying Foster Carers on a Fortnightly basis and responding to queries
- Processing and paying Supplier invoices
- Raising monthly invoices to Local Authorities and credit control
- Maintaining Respite and Savings spreadsheets for the Foster children
- Maintaining our HR records for our team of 30 staff. This includes issuing templated contracts, new starter onboarding and leaver management along with tracking holidays and absence.

**About You**:
To be successful in the role you will have a relevant accounting background and experience of working in a finance accounts position.

**Other essential skills/experience include**:

- Organised with a high level of attention to detail.
- Experience working with cloud based financial recording software such as Xero or Quickbooks.
- An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel
- Payroll experience
- Sharing our passion for making a real difference in the lives of children and young people
- Experience of HR administration would be desirable
