The Head of Food and Beverage is one of the most important roles in our Castle Estate hotel company, because of the vital sources of revenue generated from the restaurant, bars, banqueting, weddings, corporate and other events.

As a market leader in high-end exclusive use events and a luxury leisure destination, applicants for the Head of Food and Beverage must possess a well-developed set of business skills and be able to successfully deliver a wide range of events from Exclusive Use weddings, to high-end international Conferences, private dining bookings, and so forth.

The role is as much about people as it is food and drinks. So building relationships, putting clients at ease and developing a rapport that brings in repeat business to the Company is key. A professional, charming and confident manner is therefore essential.

Your job will be to ensure that the Food and Beverage team meet the requirements of each client - whether they want a small anniversary party for 50 guests, a glamorous wedding for 120 attendees, a group luxury afternoon tea experience, or a high-profile Corporate retreat.

Easily accessible and just 7 miles outside Edinburgh, privately-owned Carberry Tower Mansion House is one of the most luxurious and magnificent Castles of Scotland and is situated in its own private 40 acre estate.

With a strong emphasis on delivering high-end exclusive use events, as well as overseeing the award-winning bistro, our 30 bedroom Mansion is a stimulating and exciting place to work.

We currently operate:
A 36 cover bistro (open 7 days a week from 12noon till 10pm)

30 bedrooms inclusive of 7 suites with room service

Private dining facilities and various function rooms

Banqueting pavilion which can cater for up to 150

Extensive estate grounds for corporate retreats another team building exercises
- **What skills do I need?**_
- A track record of previous successes proving the necessary business acumen required to continue building on all of the existing food and beverage platforms within the Company.
- A passion to develop and deliver growth - particularly in our award-winning Restaurant, by specifically growing non-resident clientele markets.
- A high level of focus and attention to detail to help enable the delivery of high-end Exclusive Use events without defects or complaints from clients.
- An innate drive to succeed and significantly contribute towards Carberry Tower Mansion House becoming one of the pre-eminent establishments within the Nation.
- Strategic ability to manage and control Departmental budget.
- Leadership skills to motivate and manage your team of food and beverage supervisors and assistants.
- The confidence to liaise with other heads of department and deliver clients requirements.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills, including rota compilation and management reporting.
- Quick thinking, problem solving and the ability to deal with any last minute requests.
