**Job overview**:
**An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at The Royal Oldham Hospital as a Medical Absence Coordinator.**

This is a busy role and would ideally suit an individual with an administration background and IT Skills. To be successful you will need to be able to adapt and prioritise a busy workload, have excellent communication skills, work as a member of a team and be able to build strong and effective relationships with key stakeholders.

**Main duties of the job**:
The main duties include
- Booking bank and agency locum doctors in line with NCA policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Centrally recording, monitoring and updating absence records for medical staff.
- Processing study leave expenses as appropriate.
- Respond to and resolve queries relating to locum bookings.

- NVQ 3 Business Administration or equivalent.
- Typing skills at RSA level II or equivalent
- ECDL

**Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience**:

- Excellent keyboard skills
- Previous administrative experience
- Ability to demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills
- Confident in dealing with people at all levels within and outside of the organisation
- Effective persuasion and negotiation skills
- Ability to challenge as and when appropriate
- Understands the concept of confidentiality
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Excellent literacy skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Ability to use own initiative
- Ability to plan own workload
- Ability to work flexibly as and when required

**Desirable criteria**:

- Previous Experience of booking locum doctors
- Knowledge of Medical Staffing Grades and Rotas
