**Job overview**:
**As a Band 5 Paediatric Patient Flow Co-ordinator you will be support the Paediatric Directorate in the effective and timely flow of Children being admitted to and discharged from Paediatric Inpatient Areas.**

The role will involve frequent liaison with multi-disciplinary teams including the Bed Management Team, Emergency Department and Paediatric Directorate Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and motivated individual to make a positive impact on patient care. You will be supported by the Unit Manager, Paediatric Ambulatory Care Manager, Paediatric Practice Educator and the Lead Nurse in your own development and you will have access to our bespoke paediatric training days.

**Main duties of the job**:
As a Band 5 Paediatric Patient Flow Co-ordinator you will be responsible for supporting the nursing and medical teams of the Paediatric Directorate by facilitating the admission and discharge of children to and from our inpatient areas. **FYI - This is a 12 hour post which is worked as a 13hr shift inclusive of an hours break.**

Working autonomously alongside the nurse in charge you will co-ordinate the flow of accepted admissions, collate information and provide updates to the Bed Management and Directorate Teams to promote efficiency and a positive patient experience.

You will be required to liaise with departments to co-ordinate investigations and obtain supplies as well as representing the Unit at multi-professional meetings. This is a fast-paced and varied role with the opportunity to be involved in improvement work and facilitating change.
