We operate a fleet of 57 rental boats located across Paddington, Canary Wharf, Kingston and Thames Ditton. Our Thames Ditton boatyard is where most of our maintenance activities take place.

**The role**:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled leader to take charge of preventive maintenance, repairs, and cosmetic upkeep for GoBoat UK. This key role is directly responsible for ensuring our boats are both fully functional and aesthetically pleasing, directly contributing to the continued success and reputation of our business. This hands-on role is a great opportunity for a team player who is flexible and able to resolve maintenance concerns quickly and effectively.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Boat Maintenance**: Oversee and carry out preventative maintenance and repair activities, including fibreglass and gel coat work, fender repairs, and table maintenance. Also create the maintenance plan for the whole year and conduct activities in a order which fits with the seasons of the business.
- **Motor Maintenance (Torqeedo)**: Diagnose electric motor issues, conduct regular servicing, and manage an inventory of stock.
- **Electrical Systems**: Handling all internal boat wiring, power box servicing, battery maintenance, and managing shoreline power connections.
- **Asset Management**: Oversee the general maintenance of assets, including narrowboats, kiosks, and pontoons.
- **Leadership**: You will effectively manage one maintenance technician who can support you in delivering the required maintenance activities on a daily basis. There will also be a team of GoBoat Crew at each location who can support your maintenance initiatives.
- **Petrol Outboard Maintenance**:Routinely service the petrol outboards used for our service boats, ensuring reliability and optimum efficiency.
- **Logistics and Transportation**: Lead the transportation activities for boats to be moved from their respective locations, to be maintained in Thames Ditton and returned again. We require you to hold a valid driving license.
- Demonstrates a strong sense of pride and ownership in their work.
- Capable of working independently with excellent organisational and technological skills.
- Thorough, professional, trustworthy, self-motivated, and adept at working methodically and accurately.
- Proactive in problem-solving and capable of bringing innovative solutions.
- Enjoys outdoor work and has a hands-on approach to completing tasks.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Proven experience in boat maintenance, including fibreglass and gel coat work.
- Knowledge of electric motor maintenance and electrical systems in boats is preferred but not essential, as long as you are interested in learning.
- Ability to accurately and efficiently manage inventory and order parts.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent skill in communication and time management, with positive teamwork capabilities.
- Must hold a valid driving licence for use in the UK.

**Start Date**:Immediate.

**Contract**: Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
