We are responsible for the entire range of children’s education, health and social care services in all three boroughs. The Adolescent Intervention Worker role will sit within the Adolescent Safeguarding Team.

The role will work across both Kingston and Richmond boroughs with adolescents needing support to remain at home in addition to young people turning 18 who may need support as they transition to adulthood.

**We are recruiting for 2 Adolescent Intervention Workers This is a fixed term post which lasts for one year which will be reviewed in March 2024.**

**Internal secondments will be considered but it would be expected that this would have been discussed and agreed with your line manager.**

About the role

The post holder will be an experienced professional who can positively engage and form relationships of trust with young people that have been faced with early childhood adversity and present challenging behaviour, including behaviour that raises exploitation concern regarding offending, gang association, going missing and substance misuse.

The post holder will have a strong understanding of policy, legislation and theory in relation to adolescents and have a history of working with young people and preventing family breakdown and/or children entering the care system.

About you
- Experience of positively engaging and forming a relationship of trust with young people that have been faced with early childhood adversity and present challenging behaviour, including behaviour that raises concern of increased risk of offending, gang involvement, absence from the home and the school environment, NEET and drug misuse.
- Someone who is flexible, creative and able to work using their own initiative.
- Experience in working directly with young people who have misused substances.
