We are responsible for the entire range of children’s education, health and social care services in all three boroughs. **We are currently recruiting for a part time Family Coach. This is fixed term post until November 2023**

The role will be directly working with parents, children and young people who are open to social care regarding any challenges they may have to enable positive change for the family as a whole.

About the role

The role of the Family Coach is to manage a caseload effectively and engage and support referred families with entrenched, complex and multiple needs. The post holder will have experience of working with parents involving domestic abuse, substance misuse or mental health difficulties.

The family coach ensures high levels of quality interventions to children, young people and their families that are open to Children’s Social Care, in particular Child Protection plans and Court proceedings. The role will involve direct family intervention using systemic approaches, supporting return home transition or supporting professionals to deliver activities.

About you
- Excellent understanding of effective safeguarding of children and young people and safeguarding in the context of family support within statutory social work processes.
- Have an understanding of diagnosed Autism and/or ADHD in children and adults
- Experience of working with children and young people presenting with vulnerable and complex needs that are likely to require child protection plans or proceedings.
- Experience in managing an allocated caseload; planning and organising workload to meet statutory timescales.
- Experience of working with families with a history of either substance misuse, mental health or alcohol misuse or domestic abuse
