**Bank staff Receptionist/Administrator**
**Closing Date: Rolling**
The Malcolm X Community Centre requires the services of a dedicated individual or individual/s to cover reception duties in our busy Community Centre. This is a great opportunity to meet and support a wide range of people arriving daily from all over the world and within the local community.
**Requirements**:
**To be contacted at short notice to cover staff shortages or sickness.**
**To be available for ad hoc shifts.**
**To take on and manage administrator/receptionist workload at various stages of the process.**
**To write daily reports for regular staff of actions and activities undertaken whilst holding bank staff positions to ensure a continued workflow necessary for the running of the centre.**
Previous work in a similar setting voluntary or paid would be desirable but not essential.
A willingness to learn new skills, ability to follow instructions and is able to work with minimum supervision.
**Skills**:
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- (English GCSE/NVQ level 2 equivalent or above)
- IT skills to work with computerised booking and payment systems.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and look after several things at once.
- General administration and customer service skills.
- A friendly and professional telephone manner.
- Patience and tact.
- Good understanding of Social Media.
**Day-to-day tasks will include**:
- Meet and greet visitors, directing them to the appropriate person or area of the premises.
- Ensure visitors comply with MXCC procedures.
- Managing incoming and outgoing mail.
- Recording & passing on messages.
- Monitor, and support guests with bookings.
- Update social media.
- Carry out other duties and tasks in relation to the post as may be requested from time by the Supervisor/Line Manager.
**Working Hours, Patterns and Environment**:
**Job Type**: Zero hours contract
**Salary**: £11.00-£12.50 per hour
Expected hours: 2 - 20 per week
