Safeguarding Specialist Practitioner -practice educator (Adults)

Deliver a comprehensive programme of training, learning and development relating to Safeguarding, to all relevant staff across the Trust and wider network where required. Act as a clinical role model, demonstrating and sharing excellent safeguarding practice. Understand and respond to the learning and development needs of staff across the Trust, as related to significant incidents, learning reviews, and internal or external audits of practice.

The post holder will spend approximately 50% of their time in practice education, and 50% working as a Specialist Practitioner. This may vary slightly according to the needs of the Team and Trust.

The function of the safeguarding team is primarily to work within operational services to collaboratively promote, enable, educate and advise frontline staff to safeguard human rights and to protect the public, Trust patients and their families. The team also provide assurance to the Trust Board and external agencies.

Contribute to safeguarding leadership across the organisation, with a focus on practice education

Support all activities necessary to ensure that the organisation meets its responsibilities to safeguard/protect children, young people and vulnerable adults

Support the work of the Learning and Development teams with regards to safeguarding specialisms

Be responsible to and accountable within the managerial framework of the employing organisation

At all times and in relation to the roles and responsibilities listed, work as a member of the organisation’s corporate services, with consideration of the needs of the Trust

Must be able to provide specialist /evidence based information and advice to practitioners in a sensitive and empathetic manner.

Provide a health representation at relevant multi-agency groups.
