Morson Talent are working with our leading defence client to support them through an exciting period of change and transformation. This is an exciting time for an experienced Talent & Development Business Partner to join their team, working in partnershipwith the senior leadership and business Leads.

Reporting into the HR Director, the Talent & Development Business Partner will be responsible for all things talent focussed, supporting, growing, developing and retaining talent across the business and being responsible for leading the end-to end talentagenda including designing and delivering talent management and development solutions, sourcing partners, co-leading internal coaching and mentoring network.

The Talent & Development Business Partner will work in collaboration with the Talent Acquisition Partner to ensure short, medium and long term talent requirements are forecasted, developing innovative strategies for talent acquisition, and creating an overalltalent development strategy with a focus on retention, development and succession planning.

Key responsibilities include:

- Line management of a Talent Acquisition Partner and Inclusion & Culture Lead
- Leading the Talent Agenda including being a central point of contact for Talent, co-designing and delivering talent development programmes throughout the employee lifecycles (e.g. onboarding, leadership (e.g. Fast Track), coaching/mentoring, successionplanning, competency management for professionals, performance management)
- Monitoring the effectiveness of such programmes and processes, revise and modify as appropriate
- Overseeing the Early Careers Programmes, provide support to HR Generalist/business as required
- Building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and leaders across the business to understand business unit priorities, talent agenda and capability planning in order to support project delivery and wider business strategy
- Providing expert support and guidance to the business on all matters relating to talent, learning and development
- Designing evaluation strategies and plans in order to discover the effectiveness of talent development and retention measures. Use quantitative and qualitative data to measure success and business benefit
- Implementing a continuous improvement approach, to ensure the talent service continues to grow and develop
- Facilitating workshops and build learning materials to enable cross-cultural collaboration
- Actively promoting the talent services to the business in conjunction with wider HR team, particularly Strategic HRBPs
- Leading in the identification of 3rd parties to support talent development and working with procurement to manage supplier contracts and relationships in line with Group policy/direction
- Establishing curated UK talent pools (for development) across UK critical talent populations and assist in building strong talent pipelines, pools and managing recruitment, internal mobility and talent retention
- Partnering with UK functions and Talent Acquisition & Strategic HRBPs to establish internal talent pools (for selection) across UK critical roles
- Establishing clear process path between Strategic Capability Planning/Review and the internal talent pool where we work with the functions in how best for them to take the make/team/buy decisions whilst maximising the internal talent pool
- Working with the Strategic HRBPs to create development pathways for those in the high potential talent pool, tracking their progress and reviewing with the business to ensure pool is fit for purpose
- Effectively tracking talent pool members in short/long term dimensions leading to data-led decisions
- Closely monitoring retention levels across all BLs, identifying areas of concern, taking steps to resolve issues as necessary
- Supporting the HRD on the design and implementation of key HR and people initiatives
- Designing and promoting a company succession plan
- Acting as the HR Lead for the Engineering Specialist & Experts programme
- Enabling the growth of our business by contributing to major bids, identifying people risks and opportunities
- Providing day-to-day leadership to drive the delivery of the Bids & Projects People Plan, as well as the overall Talent Agenda & Plan
- Proactively identifying and resolving any people capacity or capability issues that inhibit performance, partnering with the HR Generalists to resolve, whilst coaching leaders to address any skills gaps within their teams
- Proven capability to create and execute UK talent chains across domains and functions
- Evidence of tangible benefits from talent pool members on how to maximise their potential and manage their careers, using development theory and models to support personal growth in others
- Confidence in working with senior stakeholders, bringing insight and challenging as appropriate
- Ability to demonstrate business knowledge and acumen to understand where challenges may manifest or be different for various stakeholder groups
- Experienced in facilitating large groups and coaching individuals to create innovative solutions
- Proven ability in using analytical and problem-solving techniques to understand complex situations
