Receptionist - Band 2
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, confident and organised individual with lots of energy who relishes a challenge, to join the Gloucestershire Community Dental Services in the role of a receptionist. You will be providing clerical support to clinical staff ensuring the efficient and effective provision of dental treatment to patients who have Special Needs which include learning and physical disabilities, challenging behaviour, dental phobia and acute dental pain.
The receptionist is considered a vital role within dental services. The role differs greatly from other administrative roles as it requires a complexity of key skills. If you enjoy being a team player, have excellent communication and negotiation skills, a good knowledge of dental terminology, good computer literacy and accuracy to gather information together then we would like to hear from you.
Applicants should evidence an ability to be calm under pressure and a willingness to undertake and learn new tasks. A thoroughness and attention to detail are essential for these roles as is the ability to manage challenging deadlines for information requests. A good telephone manner is essential, as is the skill to communicate effectively at all levels whilst maintaining confidentiality at all times.
You will need to be able to balance the demands of an interesting and challenging role and manage your own workload effectively to meet deadlines and targets. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to prioritise duties according to conflicting priorities. A positive outlook and a flexible approach are essential.
At Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust, we are supportive of the people we care for in the community and aim to provide a fully responsive service to everyone who needs it. This is the same approach we take for our employees. We look to value the skills and experiences of those we work with, whether they are service users, carers, families or those looking to work with us.
Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is part of the NHS. We treat NHS patients according to NHS principles and standards. The difference is the Trust is accountable to local people, rather than to Government, and so we are able to work closely with our community to develop services in the way that best suits the needs of local people.
The qualification, training & experience requirements for the role are underlined in the Job Description/Person Specification.
