As one of 15 Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs) across England, we connect and support academics, NHS, industry and others to bring fresh energy to old problems, inspired thinking to new ones and to adopt innovative practice at scale.

We are looking for someone to join our Industry and Innovation Team, working under our commission from the Office for Life Science to support economic growth in the health and life science sector.

The successful applicant will help us to provide even more and better support for appropriate health care innovators, and will support even better alignment between developing innovations and regional NHS needs.

Working for Wessex AHSN

Wessex AHSN is a company limited by guarantee, owned by the NHS and hosted by University Hospital Southampton.

Based at Southampton Science Park in Chilworth in a bright modern office easily accessible from the M3, M27 and Southampton Parkway train station, the location offers free parking with a café area and networking spaces on site. 27 acres of the Science Park site are designated a protected Conservation Area and open to staff.

You will provide support for the development, delivery, and evaluation of the Industry and Innovation programme. This is programme is a specific commission from the Office for Life Science to support economic growth in the Health and Life Science sector. We support innovators from commercial, clinical and academic backgrounds to develop and deploy innovations whilst improving patient outcomes and value for the NHS.

You will liaise and guide the project leads across Wessex, promoting good Industry and Innovation initiatives across the geography and supporting national delivery.

You will deliver activities that support the development of innovations and their evidence base, and lead towards appropriate deployment.

The successful applicant will be proactive and efficient, with a good understanding of the NHS, and experience in driving forward projects.

You will join a fast moving and supportive and productive team within an organisation with a great work-place culture.
