**Where and when do we need you?**
We are looking for a Pastoral Co-ordinator at our SEMH School located on the outskirts of Southampton supporting around 20 young people. Our students will have all been identified as having complex and additional needs and as such are better suited to 1:1 or 2:1 learning and will have an individualised curriculum based on their specific needs. Students are placed with Fair Ways when most other mainstream or specialist schools have been unable to meet their needs. As such, they are likely to have been out of education for a long period of time, having exhausted multiple placements.
Within this role at our School you will be involved exciting and rewarding things like:
- Supporting the inclusion of all pupils in the School each day, delivering a pastoral programme enabling them to access education and a structured timetable of both vocational and classroom based learning.
- Monitoring and reporting on the implementation of pastoral support plans/interventions for pupils and contribute to the review of these plans.
- Co-ordinate attendance issues and provide problem solutions to provide individual support to students, including Positive Listening and Learning conversations and contribute to Behaviour management plans for individual pupils.
- Work with pupils on an individual and group basis to contribute to more effective learning through improved behaviour and social skills including SEAL / DBT interventions.
- Assist the Head of Education and the School Deputy’s in developing resources to meet identified needs of the pupils around behaviour and therapeutic support (including chill out chats).
- Participate in the implementation and delivery of each students Individual Education Plan (IEP) and Personal Education Plan (PEP) by providing relevant data to monitor progress, set targets and plan lessons
- To demonstrate an understanding of, and a willingness to learn, how the young peoples’ early life experiences and how such experiences may result in, or contribute to, severe challenging behaviour.
This role is offered on 37.5 hours a week Term Time only basis.

- To be highly organised, methodical and able to prioritise, set deadlines and keep to them and hold a management qualification at degree or diploma level 5
- Relevant teaching qualifications required (QTS, QTLS, Cert Ed / diploma level and / or to be able to demonstrate the relevant experience needed to support this role
