**Want to work on a project that's focussed on early intervention for young people who are most at risk of homelessness in Cardiff?**

**There are two part time positions available 28 hours and 21 hours per week.**

How about working with their families to enable the young person to remain in the family home, improve future life chances and prevent possible homelessness?

This project is just that, a local authority initiative that brings together multiple organisations; including, charities, housing associations, social services and more.

**What will you do?**
- Work with families and young people to improve communication and provide a mediation service
- Partner with social services, schools and other support organisations to ensure a cohesive approach
- Receive and process new referrals from the local authority, and other sources
- To work in a psychologically and trauma informed way with all parties, showing kindness and compassion
- Maintain clear and accurate case notes on the internal IT system
- Encourage young people to take an active part in the service
- Work with 13 to 24 years olds across Torfaen

**What will you need?**
- Experience working with vulnerable young people
- An excellent understanding of family mediation and its role in promoting healthy family functions
- Able to mediate between young people and their parents/guardians and support network
- A working knowledge of current legislation affecting young people
- Knowledge of homelessness and housing issues in Wales
- Able to work with a team, other organisations and the wider support network in Cardiff
- **A UK drivers licence and access to a vehicle**

**What will you get?**
- Salary of £21,702 per year + holidays, pension etc (Pro rata for part time)
- 45p per mile travel expenses for work mileage
