**Job summary**:
We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a Research Assistant to join our Clinical Research Team at the Inflammation Research facility (part of the NIHR Wellcome Trust CRF). In this role you will have the opportunity to maintain and develop all of your clinical skills within a research environment where you will be assisting in the delivery of a wide range of research studies.

We cover a variety of clinical specialties but our focus is on inflammatory conditions. As a Research Assistant you will have the opportunity to work in a nurse-led environment and be expected to assist in the delivery of clinical trials. You will have the opportunity to maintain and develop existing clinical skills, such as but not limited to, phlebotomy, ECG and spirometry. You will also be given the opportunity to develop new exciting skills such as prepping and assisting with biopsies, and work within our ultrasound suite and the assessments of patients You will be working closely with Senior Clinicians and other Multi-disciplinary team members to assist the delivery of trial protocols ensuring the unit is prepared and supported, with a continued commitment to participant safety and welfare.

**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:

- Assist and as required provide patients with personal care
- Following appropriate training and supervised practice, undertake identified competency based practices which are required for the ward / unit, after such tasks have been delegated to them by a registered nurse.
- Identify learning and development needs and produce a personal development plans in conjunction with your line manager / supervisor.
- Support the delivery of biopsies on the unit
