Do you want to make a difference and change care through research?

We're looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Physiotherapist to join our research delivery team at UHB. As a Band 7 Research Physiotherapist you will support and lead research delivery activities including outcome assessment of new and innovative therapy research interventions across a range of specialities at UHB. Do you have your own research question in mind? We can help facilitate applications for higher degrees and support your continued professional development.

It is essential that you are friendly and adaptable and can work autonomously to ensure the delivery of protocolised therapy assessment across all 4 UHB sites. This dynamic role will require an individual with excellent communication skills to ensure research is delivered effectively, enhancing the research patients' experience.

You will have experience as a practicing physiotherapist in an acute care setting and will demonstrate knowledge of research and be skilled in analysing and presenting data. If successful we will offer a full induction programme, that will include the requirements of delivering research at UHB.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be responsible for creating and contributing to the generation of knowledge by undertaking therapy assessments and treatments for specific research projects, as identified by the CORE Research team. The post holder will contribute to writing further research bids. The post holder will be able to analyse and interpret quantitative and qualitative research findings and results and disseminate this information to a wide audience.

The post holder is professionally accountable for the maintenance of standards of professional practise and standards of care. They will provide professional clinical leadership within a defined area and provide direction and inspirational leadership to all members within the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will undertake and supervise clinical practice, audit, research, and teaching to set, monitor and continuously improve standards of care and patient experience.

The post holder is required to work on their own initiative on a regular basis and manage their own workload; this will require excellent planning and organisational skills. The post holder must be able to communicate information to a wide range of staff groups, Consultants, external stakeholders. Develop a good understanding of system reform issues facing the NHS. Using their own judgment, the post holder will be able to prioritise their workload effectively.

The post holder will be required to work across all 4 hospital sites.

Qualifications

Essential

*Masters in relevant subject/field (, Physiotherapy or research-based masters or post-graduate study) or equivalent Level 7 post-graduate qualification *Experience of further academic/personal development *Registered Physiotherapist on HCPC register. *Evidence of Mentorship/ leadership skills

Desirable

*Health care management / Leadership Qualification *In-depth understanding of clinical research and trial management methodology, including applicable regulatory requirements *Sound understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and the EU clinical trials directive *Infectious disease clinical/research experience *PhD

Experience

Essential

*Professional Portfolio which demonstrates continuing professional development, evidence of ability to maintain professional registration *Substantial relevant and recent clinical experience within a complex health care setting or Acute NHS setting working as a Band 6 position including the supervision and education of junior staff/ students . *Demonstrable current, recent experience of team leadership and management within the healthcare setting. *Demonstrable understanding of the management responsibility for pay and non-pay resources associated with the clinical service. *Experience of being a mentor *Demonstration of a significant contribution to innovative practice or change management. *Experience in learning from incidents /complaints and supporting changes in practice. *Demonstrate an ability, experience, passion in the following areas: oLeadership oTeam building oManaging Resources oTime management oRole modelling /Change management/ clinical developments oClinical governance oAudit and research oWorkforce planning / management oNHS policy and political awareness oKnowledge of clinical governance
