The Department of HRM and OB at SBS brings together a multidisciplinary team of internationally renowned academics with teaching and research interests in the fields of human resource management and organisational behaviour, as well as in associated fields such as industrial/employment relations, employment studies, organisation studies, labour economics, and work sociology. The Department has a thriving undergraduate and postgraduate portfolio, which is built on the staff’s research strengths and expertise. We lead the MSc HRM programme, and contribute to several other programmes offered by SBS.

Recent research topics of the HRM and OB group members include alternative theorising of leadership, careers and skills, digital media, technologies and people, corporate social responsibility, sustainability and ethics, entrepreneurship and self-employment, human resource development, independent professionals, individual and organisational responses to hardship, labour market institutions and workplace trade unions, new ways of working, power in technological change programmes, work/non-work interface, work quality and well-being, and workforce diversity and inequalities. Members of the Department have published in leading academic outlets, such as_ _the_ British Journal of Management, British Journal of Industrial Relations, Gender, Work & Organization, Human Relations, Human Resource Management, Human Resource Management Journal, The International Journal of Human Resource Management, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Management, Journal of Vocational Behavior, Organization Studies, Public Management Review, Research Policy, _and_ Work, Employment and Society_.

As a Lecturer, you will play a central role in furthering the research and teaching of the Department. You will teach at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, and act as a leader and ambassador for us across management and engagement activities. Whether developing your own teaching approaches, embarking on new research projects, or contributing to the effective administration of our Department, you will enjoy scope to innovate and make a significant impact.
