The Procurement department at Airedale General Hospital have an exciting opportunity within their Contracts Team.

You will have good communication skills, be computer literate on basic software systems such as Microsoft Office.

Your main responsibilities will include contributing to the delivery of an optimally cost-effective contract renewals service, completing target savings delivery and enhancing and developing relationships.

The Procurement department is part of AGH Solutions Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary company of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust.

Monitors and ensures that invoice queries are kept to a minimum and resolved in liaison with Purchasing, Contracts, Receipt and Distribution and Finance colleagues. Responsible for amendments to invoices if required.

Monitors the current contracts for both savings and contract renewal.

To assist in developing initiatives aimed at the continued development and improvement of procurement practices, techniques, methods and results by identifying innovative opportunities, I.E. through rationalisation and collaboration with other NHS organisations or external commercial agencies, developing the benefits of shared strategic procurement, supplier partnerships, consistent with achieving and demonstrating best value for money.

To take opportunities to ensure best value for money by assisting in the preparation of contract specifications, the maximisation of competition by quotation and tender and the negotiation of contracts for goods and services not already covered by a Crown Commercial Service, NHS Supply Chain agreement or other collaborative agreements/frameworks.

Undertake statistical or systems analysis on procurement matters as required, and provide written and management reports to stakeholders and interested parties.

To work within the organisations’ policies or procedures and follow Standing Financial Instructions and Standing Orders.

To assist with procurements under Public Contract Regulations when the appropriate criteria apply.

To identify and pursue savings and non-monetary added value opportunities.

To undertake or assist in contracting or other projects required by general service provision or delegated operational/financial objectives identified within the procurement work plan.

Responsible for ensuring those items eligible for VAT exemption are identified and action is taken accordingly.

Responsible for ensuring trials and demonstrations of equipment and materials and provides reports on performance in conjunction with other departments as appropriate.

Responsible for ensuring the Purchasing Section obtain completion of PAQ forms and liaises with the appropriate departments for the safety checks prior to placing of orders for medical equipment.

Ensures that all loan equipment suppliers who are not included on the master indemnity agreement sign our indemnity forms, monitor the loan periods and liaise with departments as necessary.

Ensures that outstanding goods are monitored/chased regularly to guarantee delivery of goods and services to customers when required.

Undertakes Staff Development Reviews and sets performance objectives.

Participates, as required, in the recruitment of staff to the Department.
