**Job summary**:
If you work in digital forensics and would like a new challenge within an Operational role, leading a team of scene based Digital Forensic examiners as well as providing a tactical digital input to investigations then this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

The role of a Senior DFOO strikes a balance between managing a team of scene based digital forensic officers as well as facilitating the digital forensic service delivery for investigations into serious and organised crime. This will involve working with a diverse range of investigatory case teams across the UK and being involved in investigations covering a wide range of threat types including, importation and supply of illegal drugs, firearms and CSA.

**Job description**:
Day to day duties involve coordinating with an array of investigatory case teams, developing bespoke digital collection plans, allocating digital forensic officers to operational deployments or self-deploying to scenes to conduct digital forensic examinations in line with relevant legislation and ISO 17020 accreditation standards and conducing exhibit reviews to determine optimum course of action to obtain the best possible evidence.

Due to the level of responsibility involved, it is essential that the role holder have a strong existing digital forensic knowledge base and skillset with experience in acquiring and preserving digital evidence.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Supervise and lead team of scene based digital forensic officers.
- Liaise and coordinating with Investigation teams to discuss digital forensic requirements and producing digital tactical collection plans.
- Participate in tasked operations, projects and investigations, gathering information, intelligence and evidence in order disrupt and degrade criminal capability.
- Conduct exhibit reviews post warrant and conduct Quality Assurance of exhibits submitted for forensic examination.
- Complete evidential reports and witness statements.
- Work with a diverse range of teams and external stakeholders, developing effective working relationships in order to foster collaborative working.

- Intermediate to advanced level certification in Digital Forensics

- Proven knowledge of relevant standards in relation to the Forensic Science Regulators Code of Practice and Conduct, and experience in an accredited environment (ISO17020/ 17025).
- Experience of leading and managing a technical team to deliver against strict deadlines.
- Proven experience in collection and analysis of evidence from digital devices either laboratory-based or at crime scenes.
