**THE OPPORTUNITY**

Our business is transforming as we seek to retain the relevance our brands have within the markets they serve, while also taking advantage of our scale to deliver better results for our customers. We have recently brought together our Conference and Awards Operations teams and are seeking a highly skilled and experienced **Head of Awards and Events Operations** with experience in building up an event operation function, establishing best-in-class processes, developing and leading projects and supporting team members in order to establish this function and working practices.

**PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Accountable for the events operations function, end to end from conception of an event to delivery.
- Responsible for the P&L of a mixed awards and conferences portfolio of approx. 30 international events per year.
- Accountable for the cost budget and achieving target margins across the portfolio and at an overall business level, equally holding your team accountable for budget management.
- Overseeing the development of the department and aligning new processes with the Business.
- Working with finance and sales, establishing best practice processes, to ensure financial reporting (forecasts, settlements etc.) are completed with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
- Developing a team of 3 FTE to successfully deliver a high standard of events internationally.
- Project manage the awards and conference portfolio, ensuring processes are followed in good time and realizing the desired outcomes of each event.
- Strategic planning and scheduling of all events to secure buy in from all other departments and stakeholders.
- Supplier and Venue management. Building strong relationships with suppliers to deliver the best deals and services to enhance the events.
- Leading on joint discussions with marketing, sales, and product development teams to align Operational outcomes with overall business strategies.
- Cultivating positive relationships with team members to foster collaboration and support for organizational goals.
- Objective setting, career development and training for team members to encourage growth for the team and individuals.
- Representing the brand at events and in meetings.

**KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS**
- 5 Years of demonstrable execution and understanding of operational tasks and stakeholder management
- 3 years of line management experience, including developing team members and recruitment
- Experience of building or transforming an Operations team to embed best practice processes
- Drafting and developing clear, accurate timelines/plans for delivery, staffing and resource allocating
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Solution-oriented mindset with a focus on maintaining positive relationships
- Experience in monitoring and reporting on projects using various reporting methods
- Experience in handling large budgets and reforecasting with various stakeholders
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrable experience and understanding of excel
- Strong organization, note-taking, and presentation skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills, attention to detail for dealing with venue contracts and legal teams.
