Job description
**We are currently looking for Licensing and Compliance Officer to join us at The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Foundation.**
Not all learning happens in the classroom. In fact, some of life’s most valuable lessons happen in the least likely of places.
This is where The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (the Award) comes in.
Founded nearly 70 years ago, the Award is a global, non-formal education and learning framework which operates in more than 120 countries and territories.
Open to all 14 to 24-year-olds, regardless of their background, culture, or physical ability, the Award aims to challenge young people to discover their potential and find their purpose, passion and place in the world, while working towards a globally recognised accreditation.
The Head of Events will take a leading role in the development and delivery of all the Foundation’s key events, ensuring they all feed into the successful delivery of the organisation’s strategy. Our events are integral to enhancing stakeholder participation and engagement with the Award, as well as helping with its and the Foundation’s sustainability and growth.
The role will lead and take accountability for the overall implementation of the events portfolio which include fundraising, stewardship, corporate, and donor recruitment events, our governance events such as our international forum and Award related Royal visits. The role will be the key conduit between the Events team and the other departments within the Foundation, particularly the Development team, and external stakeholders such as Global Operating Partners, Foundation supporters and the Royal Office.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has solid experience in delivering high quality, engaging and bespoke events who is eager to be more creative and interested in working on international events. This role will suit someone who is motivated, highly creative, solution orientated, collaborative and an experienced leader with a true understanding of the charitable sector and the key role events play in this.
