We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Head of Event Projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of all event build projects, built in-house.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management:

  • Monitor the allocation of work and maintain an even workflow throughout the team.
  • Nurture and develop the team, focusing on individual strengths, and shape career development plans.
  • Responsible for line management, recruitment, training, development, appraisals, 1-2-1's, and support of direct reports.
  • Manage sub-contractors.

Project Management:

  • Be the project owner for large or complex projects, including supply chain, venues, and clients.
  • Take briefs from concept and quoting stage through to full project delivery.
  • Monitor and maintain a high level of finish and detail.
  • Manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Understand the complete scope of work for all projects, set and meet key timings, including sign off, manufacturing completion, and delivery schedules.
  • Track all project costs, budget allocations, and maintain expenditure within set parameters.
  • Lead the Project Managers Meeting.
  • Liaise with the Operations team to manage Workshop delivery.
  • Take the lead on all project-related client and internal communication and scheduling.
  • Ensure compliance with company H&S and CDM requirements.
  • Meet and exceed client expectations to drive repeat business.

Financial and Budget Management:

  • Collate a weekly status report for the Senior Management Team.
  • Manage project expenditure and 3rd party suppliers.
  • Monitor project profitability and feasibility.
  • Manage and maintain project budgets.
  • Negotiate and procure 3rd party services and develop supplier relationships.

On-site:

  • Manage the on-site schedule.
  • Be the lead liaison between the company and the client/venue.
  • Ensure strong production values in finish and safety.

Business Development:

  • Work with the Commercial Director to develop new business, actively identifying new and potential business opportunities.
  • Develop relationships and pitch for new business, as required.
  • Provide a consistently high standard of client liaison.

Requirements:

  • A highly motivated self-starter, with proven success in delivering events construction projects.
  • Extensive experience in a similar role within the events construction industry.
  • Experience of successfully running a team.
  • Flexible and willing to travel to project sites.
  • Excellent coordination skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
  • Be able to comfortably work within a deadline-driven environment.
  • Work to a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
