The Role:
Based primarily in Inchinnan, Glasgow the key accountability of the role would be to support the legal and export control function, in ensuring that JFD remain compliant in all aspects relating to US export compliance regulations, inclusive of US Department of State (ITAR), US Department of Commerce (EAR) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

The role would also overlap with key elements of managing UK export controls, to provide the business with increased levels of resilience within the export control function.

Some travel to other JFD locations may be required.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
There will be a wide range of US and UK export compliance-based activities, which are aligned toward JFD adhering to all levels of mandatory US and UK export compliance:

- Identify and drive all US export compliance requirements within the JFD business.
- Provide guidance, direction and oversight to assure ongoing adherence to applicable US export compliance regulations.
- Support the implementation of a culture of compliance within the business.
- Develop procedures to facilitate compliance with US export controls, inclusive of a
- implementing a US based Export Management Compliance Program (EMCP).
- Maintain related documentation in line with JFD Quality Management System (QMS).
- Work with IT to drive compliance and solutions in line with JFD management systems.
- Promote education and awareness throughout the business relating to US export compliance, inclusive of implementing a formal training program.
- Assure key stakeholders are informed of their compliance responsibilities and provide support with provision of appropriate resources.
- Act as JFD recognised Point of Contact (POC) for US export compliance.
- Conduct export control reviews and restricted party screenings.
- Determine export control requirements and compile Technology Control Plans (TCP’s) where required.
- Manage commodity jurisdiction and classification requests from USML and CCL
- Obtain all necessary export licences and authorisations.
- Prohibit access by unlicensed parties to any controlled technology or controlled technical data.
- Maintain all mandatory records and supporting documentation.
- Understand key elements of UK export controls, in line with company resilience planning model.

Who are we looking for?
We require an individual who possesses the ability to develop a robust compliance system, which supports complex US export compliance regulations, against a backdrop of various business stakeholder challenges.

You must be a robust decision maker with strong communication skills and be able to communicate confidently with internal and external stakeholders, especially with regard to relaying the criticality of conforming to mandatory compliance requirements.
You must also be able to demonstrate a positive track record in program management, particularly in relation to implementing and managing complex processes.

Skills & Experience:

- A must is proven practical experience in an US export compliance related environment with demonstrable understanding of US ITAR, EAR & OFAC compliance regulations.
- Strong analytical and IT skills along with program management experience, ideally involving implementation.
- An operational understanding of UK export compliance and HM Revenue and Customs procedure.
