Hemel Hempstead, United Kingdom HertsOne Ltd - GP Federation Full time

Administrator - Physical Activity Finder Coordinator

Full time role - 37.5 hours

Fixed term 12-month contract

Salary £23,949 per annum

Regular physical activity is one of the most important things you can do for your health contributing to brain health, help manage weight, reduce the risk of disease, strengthen bones and muscles and improve your ability to do everyday activities. However, we know that one of the most significant barriers to taking part in physical activity is awareness of the different opportunities that are available. This is why the ‘Moving More’ Activity Finder platform was created - to help people living in Hertfordshire learn about all the options to be physically active available to them.

Working across Hertfordshire with a focus on South and West Herts the post holder will lead further implementation and roll out of the new Moving More online activity finder and drive engagement and uptake. Through working with providers to improve and make information about physical activity and sporting opportunities more accessible, using Open Data. This is an integral resource for the county, from both a B2B perspective of stakeholders (health, education and employment) using the online platform to sign post people to suitable opportunities but also from a B2C perspective of the general public finding local opportunities to be physically active. Awareness of the range of opportunities available to someone is known to be one of the biggest barriers for people to be physically active and this platform will allow people a greater understanding of what’s available and where, it will make the process of searching for activities more efficient and will showcase the wide range of opportunities that are available across all types of provision.

The post holder will create relationships with community physical activity providers to build trust and confidence, in order to improve the open data rollout in Hertfordshire and bring the sport and physical activity sector into the 21stcentury with the latest developments in data access and sharing. The post holder will develop training and resources to ensure a mass uptake of these processes and work closely with stakeholders to ensure this new resource is embedded across the system.

We are looking for someone who ideally can engage with a wide range of people and have an eye for detail and processing data. They will be passionate about the importance of being physically active and using movement as a tool to improving lives and have excellent communication skills.

Please note that whilst the role is employed by the HertsOne GP Federation, the Moving More Activity Finder has been established in partnership with the Herts Sports & Physical Activity Partnership (HSP) within the University of Hertfordshire, and therefore the role will involve working closely across this partnership.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- To manage and further develop the ‘Moving More’ activity finder platform engaging with physical activity and sport providers to achieve greater levels of physical activity Open Data uptake and engagement across Hertfordshire.
- Work with physical activity providers to help them understand what Open Data is and how they use it to improve uptake of their physical activity and sporting opportunities.
- Map key partners from across the physical activity, health, community and sport sectors in order to build a comprehensive picture of provision and opportunities, creating a contacts database of providers, sports clubs, community groups and instructors.
- Build relationships with physical activity providers, working with multiple local stakeholders to identify and support local activity providers to publish their opportunity data via Open Data compliant systems (e.g., Open sessions) both in-person and through webinars as needed.
- Be the first point of contact connecting community provision to the Moving More Activity Finder.
- Develop and disseminate resources to support organisations, community groups, clubs and individuals which help open their data, which will allow them to reach new audiences.
- Deliver training and awareness events to key partners and community groups regarding Open Data, both in-person and online as needed.
- To flag issues to the relevant organisations for investigation and be a single point of contact for clubs and groups requiring support.
- Work with healthcare professionals and social prescribers to make them aware of the activity finder so they can easily direct their patients to activities to help them be more physically active.
- Work closely with the Open Data Institute (ODI), Sport England and Open Active to understand the latest developments in the sector and provide updates to the HSP team and relevant local partners / organisations as required.
- Work closely with Played (creators of the Moving More tool) and Imin (open data specialists within the physical activity sector) to encourage positive devel
