Cardiff, United Kingdom Public Health Wales NHS Trust Full time

The post holder will join the Health Improvement Division which is part of the Health and Wellbeing Directorate in Public Health Wales. The Division is developing a programme of work which supports implementation of the statutory Framework ‘Embedding a whole-school approach to emotional and mental wellbeing’ (Welsh Government, 2021). This programme is part of the Health Improvement Division’s wider Mental Wellbeing Public Health Programme and includes several streams of work. One of which is the development of a ‘what works toolkit’ which aims to help schools implement the Whole School Approach to Emotional and Mental Wellbeing Framework by supporting them to choose interventions and resources that best meet the needs of staff and learners.

This national role will contribute to development and maintenance of the Whole School Approach What Works Toolkit. The post holder will work with the Consultant in Public Health for Mental Wellbeing, Principal Public Health Practitioners, wider team members, and stakeholders, to synthesise, translate and share knowledge and evidence, to improve population wellbeing and reduce inequalities in Wales.

Funding for this current programme of work is secured until March 2025. If this funding is then discontinued PHW would look to redeploy the post holder into an alternative equivalent position in line with the PHW Redeployment policy.

**The post holder will**:

- Contribute to developing, delivering and monitoring operational plans for national programmes of work
- Undertake evidence synthesis and review work
- Coordinate an expert panel
- Lead on the dissemination of knowledge and evidence relating to Mental Wellbeing in Educational Settings
- Lead on the development and delivery of work which aims to improve the use of evidence in educational settings across Wales
- Provide expert advice and guidance on evidence synthesis and review, taking an active role in related staff development
- Develop close working relationships with key Public Health Wales stakeholders

Contribute to the assessment of stakeholder evidence needs
